not to get our hopes up

mission creep
from intercourse to intimacy
and who could know the way

staring in a hole with an confidant
and there's no pressure cause we already copped
whats her resume is she sent or strayed
i know i'm her favorite although i can't say
how i know i can't say

not to get your hopes up
but this one might be tamed
and she looked odd
“oh john what a strange thing to say”

what a creep
i shouldn't have shown her my poetry journal
and now her popcorns gone
every last kernel
with my wife at her place

did i make her feel like an applicant?
were we ever true ,were we always bent?
was she ever straight was she always gay?
And i feel like a slug looking at a snail.
